You can disable analytics and crash reporting during your sign up process before using Warp. If you’re already using Warp, you can disable telemetry under Settings > Privacy.

Your terminal is a sensitive environment. Warp’s telemetry never includes keystrokes or data from the console. You can use the network log tool to inspect all payloads.

Warp never sells your data to third parties.

If you decide to use Warp — on a free or paid plan — that stays between you and us. We do not monetize user data or exchange it with partners.

How Warp Works

Warp is a fully-native local application that can run without an internet connection. The core features of the terminal will always work offline.

Cloud-based Features (Opt-in)

Warp also includes cloud-based features that power cool things like:

• Warp AI
• Warp Drive
• Block sharing

‍

None of your data is ever sent to Warp’s servers unless you explicitly take action to send it. If you choose to use Warp Drive or block sharing and save an item, that item will be sent to Warp’s servers and stored securely in Warp’s database. Data is encrypted at rest, and you can delete this data anytime.

Warp AI

Warp AI includes both AI Command Search and the chat-based experience powered by OpenAI APIs. For chat-based experiences, Warp does not store any of this info and only passes it through our servers when we proxy requests to OpenAI.

We have not opted in to allow OpenAI to train their models on this data. OpenAI stores this data for a maximum of 30 days. You can read more about OpenAI’s API data policies on their website. You can also open Warp’s network log to review all data sent and received.

Telemetry (Opt-out)

Warp records a limited number of defined telemetry events for the purposes of:

• Reporting app crashes
• Understanding feature usage at a high-level 
• Supporting customers

Terminal input and output are never included in telemetry payloads.

‍

You can also use the Network Log to monitor all communications from the Warp client to external servers.

‍

Unlike classic terminals, Warp requires you to sign up and log in to use the app. This is more in line with what we might expect from cloud-based apps like Figma or GitHub.

• Ensures your personal workflows are available any time you use Warp, on any machine
• Makes it possible to collaborate, sharing workflows or blocks with teammates
• Makes it easier for Warp to provide support, should you ever have an issue specific to your account

In the future, identity will allow you to sync your personalized configurations from device-to-device.

We understand that logging in is a big ask. It’s our goal to make your experience with Warp so exceptional that the login feels like a benefit instead of a hindrance.

Open Source

Several of Warp’s extension points, like themes and workflows, are open-sourced today. We would love it if you checked out the Github repos and contributed to our growing community!

In the future, we plan to open-source the Rust client code and related projects, like our UI framework. Among other benefits to the community, open-sourcing will enable folks to audit our code for privacy and security bugs.

Thank you for your interest in Warp! Warp is a new terminal that helps developers and development teams be more productive. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information in connection with our Service.

When we use the terms “Warp”, “Warp.dev”, “we”, “us”, or “our” in this Privacy Notice, we are referring to Denver Technologies, Inc., d.b.a. Warp. When we use the term “Service,” we are referring to all of the services that we offer on our own behalf, including our product offerings and the web pages that post or link to this Privacy Notice.

Our Collection of Personal Information

During the normal usage of Warp, we will sometimes collect personal information, either directly from you or from our third-party providers and partners; our philosophy is to be as transparent as possible about the information we collect, and to make any information you give us opt-in where possible.

Personal Information You Provide

We collect the following personal information you provide in connection with our Service:

• Contact Information: When you communicate with us, we may collect your contact information, including your full name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, company name and title. We only collect and store this information if you choose to provide it.
• Terminal Content: On an opt-in basis, you may choose to enable features that require us to store some content from your terminal sessions. Examples of these features are Cloud History and Block Sharing. However, sharing of terminal data with our servers is on a purely opt-in basis. Moreover, we will provide tools for deleting and exporting that data.
• Customer Service and Communication History: When you contact us through any method of communications, including through our Service or via email, we collect certain information including your name, address, email, Account Identifiers, Account History and the contents of your requests and your correspondence with us.
• Inquiries and Feedback: Our Service provides individuals the ability to connect with us through an online web form that collects Contact Information (such as first and last name, email address, phone number), area(s) of interest or concern, or information on how we can help which includes a custom message from you. We may also collect this information when you join one of our waiting lists in connection with the launch of a new product or service.
• Marketing Emails: If you sign up to receive news or alerts from us, or join our Service, we collect your email address in order to send you regular updates about the Service. To unsubscribe from promotional messages, please follow the instructions within our messages and review the Your Communication Preferences section below. Note that you cannot unsubscribe from certain services-related email communications (e.g., account verification, confirmations of transactions, technical or legal notices).

Personal Information Automatically Collected when using our terminal app

• Analytics and Crash Reports: In order to improve the quality of our service, we will collect for logged-in users information pertaining to how the app is being used (analytics) and information needed to debug crashes in the app (crash reports). These analytics and crash reports may contain metadata like IP addresses, OS information, but will not contain contents of terminal sessions.

Personal Information Automatically Collected when visiting our website (warp.dev)

As is true of most digital platforms, we and our third-party providers and partners collect certain personal information automatically when you visit or interact with our websites and:

• Log Data: Including your internet protocol (IP) address, operating system, browser type, browser ID, the URL you entered and the referring page/campaign, date/time of your visit, the time you spent on our Service and any errors that may occur during your visit to our Service.
• Analytics Data: Including the electronic path you take to our Service, through our Service and when exiting our Service, as well as your usage and activity on our Service, such as the links, objects, products and benefits you view, click or otherwise interact with (also known as “Clickstream Data”). This data will allow us to better understand how you are using our Service and help improve your user experience
• Location Data: Including your general geographic location based on the Log Data we collect or more precise location when permitted by law

Personal Information from Other Sources and Third Parties

Although we often collect the personal information described above directly from you, we also collect this information through service providers and other third parties that collect it on our behalf, as noted below. Please note that our systems may record personal information that you type into our websites and other online Service even if you do not choose to submit it.

• Service Providers: Our service providers, such as application monitoring, analytics, and marketing providers, collect personal information and often share some or all of this information with us. For example, we receive personal information from Sentry to help developers see performance issues, fix errors, and optimize code health.
• Single Sign-On: We use single sign-on ("SSO") such as GitHub to allow a user to authenticate their account using one set of login information. We will have access to certain information from those third parties in accordance with the authorization procedures determined by those third parties, including, for example, your name, username, email, and profile picture. We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of the Service. We may also send you service-related emails or messages (e.g., account verification, purchase confirmation, customer support, changes or updates to features of the Site, technical and security notices).

Our Use of Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect through our websites and other online Service to:

Children’s Personal Information

Our Service is not directed to, and we do not intend to, or knowingly, collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not use our Service or other wise provide us with any personal information either directly or by other means. If a child under the age of 13 has provided personal information to us, we encourage the child’s parent or guardian to contact us to request that we remove the personal information from our systems. Nevada Residents
